Freshwater biomes really have no conditions, other than it must be wet (duh) and have a low salt concentration, usually less than 1%! [....ignore the huge Indus River sign :) ]

The freshwater biome's climate varies greatly all over the world!
~ Tropical-Temperate Surface: Summer 72ºF (22ºC)
Winter 39.2ºF (4ºC)
~ Polar-Sub-polar Surface: Summer 38ºF (3ºC)
Winter below 10ºF (-12ºC)
~ Rainfall in vicinity: 10-80 inches a year (26-203 cm)

~ The amount of freshwater on Earth now is roughly the same as it was a million years ago!
