THE TUNDRA IS the northernmost biome! It is super cold, and really quite interesting! It is located (below) in northern Canada, Greenland, Northern Russia, and Alaska! The nearby biomes are the taiga.
IT'S COLD. AND DRY.
There it is! The tundra in a nutshell! But here's some more information:
~ SUMMER: 30-50°F (-1.11°C -- 10° C)WINTER: -30-10°F (-34.4°C -- -12.22)
~ 6-10 (16-25) inches of rain PER YEAR! Almost as little as the desert!
~ Summer is very short!!! There are only a few weeks, and the sun then is mconstant.
~ The wind can easily be up to 100 MPH!
~ Precipitation falls as snow.

~ The northern lights are a beautiful attraction! To see them in person would be amazing! They are caused by electrons in the ionosphere, rubbing together.
~ The tundra is SOO fragile-The slightest change would mess up the balance, as there are only about 50 species of animals, and fewer plants!
~ Youngest biome!
~ Humans are destroying the tundra. :( Oil rigging and mining are severely injuring it, and global warming is getting worse every day!
~ The only true tundras are in the Arctic. Antarctica is much different!
